What HoundSat does

  • Activate devices

    Add devices through the API, a CSV import, or one at a time, then activate, suspend, or deactivate in bulk. Status syncs from the provider in near real time.

  • Track usage

    Daily and monthly usage per device, customer, and reseller, down to the kilobyte, reconciled against the provider's monthly records.

  • Forward data

    Every message is signed and posted to your webhooks. Failed deliveries retry twice, then wait 7 days in the dead letter queue (DLQ).

How it works

From ICCID to webhook in three steps.

  1. Step 1

    Import

    Register devices through the API, upload a CSV of ICCIDs and IMSIs, or add them one at a time. Optional IMEIs and external IDs come along too.

  2. Step 2

    Activate

    Assign devices to a customer and a plan, then activate from the dashboard or the API. Status moves from pending to active as the provider confirms.

  3. Step 3

    Forward

    Messages are signed with HMAC-SHA256 and a timestamp, then posted to your webhooks so you can verify each one and reject replays.

API

Everything in the dashboard is in the API.

The HoundSat dashboard is built on the same JSON:API your systems can call. Automate your whole fleet, with nothing to click or upload by hand.

  • Create and import devices, then activate, suspend, deactivate, reassign, or change plans, one at a time or up to 500 per request.
  • Read usage per device, customer, and month, or export it as CSV.
  • Add webhook endpoints, rotate signing secrets, and retry deliveries from the dead letter queue.
  • Sign in for a bearer token. Each request gets the same Owner, Admin, and Staff permissions as the dashboard.
